"I've never had a drone before, and I've always wanted to fly one," Juan says.

And so, he built one.

Juan Sebastian Espinosa Lancheros built Droner, the Customisable FPV Racing Drone, with a robust carbon frame. He completed VCE VET Integrated Technologies at Northern College of the Arts & Technology and Coburg High School.

See his drone, alongside other work by Victoria's emerging designers, at the 2026 Top Designs exhibition. Held at Melbourne Museum until 26 July, exhibition admission is free with general museum entry 🌟

Last Sunday, we proudly celebrated long‑serving staff across Victoria for their dedication and loyalty to public education at the 2026 Recognition of Service ceremony 👏

Each year, service recognition is awarded at a state level to staff who have achieved 40, 45, 50, 55 and, in some cases, 60 years of service.

VCAA CEO Andrew Smith and Executive Director of Curriculum Sean Butler attended the celebration, honouring the contributions of all recipients, including former VCAA staff member Daryl Sutton.

Daryl began his career with the Department of Education in May 1980. Throughout his career, and as the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Manager at the VCAA, he strongly advocated for VET and worked to improve access to high‑quality training for all learners 🎓
