What are we expecting?

The Bureau of Meteorology advises A broad low pressure trough will deepen to a low pressure system over southern Queensland or northern inland New South Wales.

The low will traverse the northeast quarter of the state, before entering the coastal waters of the Hunter and the Mid North Coast.

This system will generate widespread moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms from Thursday afternoon into Friday, across the Hunter and parts of the Mid North Coast.

Minor flooding may develop along Paterson WIlliams and parts of the Hunter River from overnight Thursday into Friday. Uncertainty remains in the location and timing of the heaviest falls.

Based on predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology, the following areas may be impacted by dangerous floodwaters:

- residential and commercial properties on:

- Lord Street
- Dowling Street
- Parts of Chapman Street
- Parts of Abeland Street
