Regaining confidence after a hospital admission, fall, or illness can be challenging. The Restorative Care Pathway can help older Australians get back on their feet with specialised funding to support them to do the things they enjoy independently for as long as they can.

What this looks like will be different for everyone. It will include allied health or nursing care, but can also cover exercises to improve strength and balance, or equipment and minor home modifications.

Short-term care to help older people regain function and stay independent or reduce the need for more intensive ongoing services.

Please note that we will be closed on Monday, 8 June, for the public holiday. 👑

During this time, we will only be providing essential services to meet urgent needs.

If you require any assistance or need to reschedule an appointment, please don't hesitate to call us. Thank you for your understanding.

Support at Home is more than just ongoing in-home aged care, it also offers 3 short-term pathways. This video explains each pathway and how they work alongside existing services.

This week is National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June), a chance for all Australians to learn, reflect, and consider the role each of us plays in reconciliation.

The week is marked by key anniversaries: 27 May, the anniversary of the successful 1967 Referendum, and 3 June, the anniversary of the High Court Mabo decision.

This year’s theme, “All In”, reminds us that reconciliation is lived through everyday actions, such as listening with openness, showing respect, and providing culturally safe care centred on the person.

Because at Neighbourcare (on Gringai Country, a clan of the Wonnarua Nation with ties to the neighbouring Worimi Nation), everyone deserves to live their best lives with care at home.

This week is just one part of a wider season of significant days and weeks.

The faces of volunteering at Neighbourcare. 💛

We’re looking back on our Volunteer Week celebrations and the wonderful people who make Neighbourcare what it is. For many of our volunteers, it’s not only about giving back. It’s also about friendship, purpose and staying connected with the community.

This year’s theme was Your Year to Volunteer, so if you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now is a great time to take that first step.

Give us a call or visit our website to find out more:

Thank you for volunteering!

During National Volunteer Week, we were proud to come together for a special morning tea to thank our wonderful volunteers.

It was a warm and lively gathering, with plenty of chatting, stories, trivia, and connection over a cuppa and a bite to eat. Years of Service awards were also presented, recognising the time, care, and heart our volunteers give to the Dungog community.

To every volunteer, thank you. Your kindness and support make a real difference to local people and families.

This week, we’re supporting National Road Safety Week.

With many of our team on the road each day, safe driving is essential — not just for our staff, but for the clients we transport and support.

It’s a good reminder to slow down, stay focused, and look out for one another every time we drive.

Today, we celebrate the mothers and mother-like figures who make such a meaningful difference in our Dungog community.

Whether through caring for loved ones, supporting neighbours, or bringing warmth and connection to those around you, your role is incredibly valued. Many of our clients and staff carry this spirit every day, helping keep our community strong and supported.

Thank you for all that you do; your contribution is the backbone of our community.

Wishing everyone a beautiful and relaxing Mother’s Day 💐

Unsteadiness.
Feeling unwell.
Using furniture to walk.
Confusion.

If you’re concerned about someone, start a conversation, we're here to help. A simple chat and the right support can help prevent a fall and keep someone living safely at home. 🦺
