The Guild's National President, Professor Trent Twomey, spoke about the growing incidence of violence and aggression experienced by pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in community pharmacies across Australia.

In the NT, safety surveys are emailed to our member pharmacies on the 15th of each month. Experienced an incident? We want to know. No incidents to report? We still want to know.

Help us gather the evidence needed to identify trends, understand risks, and advocate for safer workplaces. Every response helps us build a clearer picture of what's happening across the Territory and strengthens our ability to advocate for change.

The Northern Territory recorded an average of approximately 8 drug-induced deaths between 2019 and 2023, according to the Penington Institute's Australia's Annual Overdose Report 2025.

This International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those lost to overdose and encourage practical actions that can help prevent future deaths.

Pharmaceutical Society of Australia's 11404NAT Graduate Certificate in Pharmacist Prescribing is a nationally recognised qualification designed to prepare pharmacists for prescribing roles through advanced clinical assessment, prescribing decision-making, medicines management and collaborative practice training.

Eligible NT pharmacists may be able to access up to $8,500 in funding towards course fees.
