A Bushfire Survival Plan helps you make important decisions before an emergency, so everyone in your household knows exactly what to do if a bushfire threatens your property.
The safest place to make decisions is around the kitchen table, not when a fire is at your doorstep.
Your Bushfire Survival Plan should include:
📝 When will you leave? Decide on your trigger to leave early.
🚗 Where will you go? Plan your evacuation route and have an alternative if roads are closed.
👨👩👧👦 Who needs assistance? Consider children, older family members, pets and anyone who may need extra help.
🧳 What will you take? Prepare your Bushfire Survival Kit and keep it somewhere easy to access.
📞 How will you stay informed? Know where to find official bushfire warnings and who you'll contact if your plans change.
Remember, every family is different, so your Bushfire Survival Plan should be tailored to your home, your family and your circumstances.
