💡Additional lighting has been installed in Power Memorial Park at Mudjimba.

This stretch of the path between the Esplanade and the amenities block was previously very dark and was a concern raised by residents.

Exciting news for Mount Coolum residents...

In early June, construction will start on upgrading Beach Access 94, which is located at the end of Tanah St East.

The revamped beach access includes:

✅ An elevated ramped boardwalk structure with timber balustrade

✅ Stairs with handrails at the beach end

✅ A concrete pathway to connect the boardwalk to the existing coastal pathway.

The access will follow the same alignment to minimise impacts to the existing vegetation.

Works are expected to take around three months to complete, weather permitting. During this time, residents will need to use Beach Access 95 as an alternative.

While the coastal pathway will remain open during construction, the grass area at the end of Tanah St East will be fenced off and used as a construction compound.

The carparks at the end of Tanah St East will also be fenced off for the duration of works. On street parking along Tanah St East will not be affected.

❗️BREAKING: I have been advised today that the applicant (appellant) for the Pacific Paradise Bowls Club redevelopment has discontinued their court appeal.

In July 2025, Council refused the application on several grounds, including sport and recreation zoning and height.

In August 2025, an appeal was lodged against Council’s decision. The decision by the applicant/appellant to discontinue their case brings an end to this appeal.

Like any other property, there may be future development applications lodged for the site which council would be required to consider.

❗️Bradman Avenue pedestrian safety update ❗️

Ted Hungerford and I have been advocating for better pedestrian safety outcomes. The State Government has now provided a response.

TMR are undertaking detailed planning for the entire length of Maroochydore-Noosa Road, which includes Bradman Ave.

The planning is expected to be complete by mid-2026 and TMR will carefully assess the potential impacts of additional pedestrian crossings along Bradman Ave.

This is welcome news and I’ll continue sharing the views of residents who want better pedestrian safety in this area.

🚶‍♂️An update on the pathways (both new and renewed) delivered in Division 8 over the last 2 years ✅

I also forgot to mention South Coolum Road because it’s a long list 😀

We’re also delivering pedestrian crossings in key locations to help get people around safely.
