Jan 11. 09:00 update.

Fire activity overnight was subdued, and the fire remains at approximately 1,865 hectares. Minor changes to the reported size are due to ongoing refinement of mapping rather than any significant change in fire behaviour.
Our best option for gaining effective control of the fire now involves the introduction of planned backburning activities, predominantly along the eastern edge of the fire. This is expected to result in increased smoke today and over the coming days and may also lead to an increase in the total area burnt.
These burning activities have been carefully planned and will be carried out by experienced practitioners. We understand that additional smoke can cause concern but please be assured that all options have been thoroughly assessed and we are confident this approach offers the best opportunity to achieve control as quickly and safely as possible.

We at CAS are dedicated Scott Cook fans and last time he rolled through these parts with Pamela Mae it was a rare and special evening indeed!

So next week we are so very excited to be hosting their return as it promises to be a magical evening of story, song, laughter and also with plenty of the feels we all need and love.

Part communion for our collective spirits, part celebration of the heart and always a joy to experience, let’s show Scott and Pamela that live music is also an intrinsic part of our valley’s way of building strong collective connections and new friendships.

The show will be supported by Candelo’s own The Wild Martinis, this young band is absolutely a delight to behold.
