With High Fire Danger ratings forecast for most of Tasmania tomorrow (Sunday, 1 February), there are a few things we can all do to stay safe.

πŸ”₯ Make sure any fires lit in recent days or weeks, including fire pits and other outdoor fires, are fully extinguished. Soak it. Stir it. Soak it again.

πŸ—’οΈ Check your bushfire plan and prepare your property.

πŸ”₯ If you do see any signs of fire re-igniting such as smoke and flames, call Triple Zero (000).

πŸ“± Keep up to date with warnings and information on the TasALERT app or at TasALERT.com, or by listening to ABC Local Radio.

πŸ“œFire Permits are in place across the state, call 1800 000 699 to apply for a permit.

πŸ”—Prepare your property and have a bushfire plan: www.bushfire.tas.gov.au

This week has been marked by substantial firefighting efforts, notably on Harrison Street with multiple fires and in Conara, and it is not yet over. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many regional volunteers who have supported these efforts, playing a critical role during these challenging times. The air support team also deserves special recognition for their key contributions to both incidents. As summer continues, vigilance among the public is crucial. We also value the appreciation shown to our brigade for their hard work and dedication.
Thank You
