✂️💛 A chop with a purpose.

Taylor, a Year 12 student at Trinity Anglican School (TAS) and a valued member of the CKC team, recently took part in the annual TAS Ponytail Project.

Each year, Year 12 students from the TAS White Rock campus grow their hair before taking part in the “rock the chop” - raising funds for the Cancer Council and donating their ponytails to help create wigs for people experiencing medical hair loss. 💇‍♀️💛

With more than 30 Year 12 students getting involved each year, the Ponytail Project is making a huge impact. Over the past several years, TAS students have raised more than $100,000 to support cancer research, patient transport and vital support services.

We’re so proud of Taylor for getting involved, giving back and making her chop count. 🫶

🚌 We’re looking for a Contracted School Bus Driver to join our Mossman team.

This role offers a straightforward and reliable school route, with morning and afternoon runs Monday to Friday. There may also be opportunities to take on extra charter work between runs or in the evenings.

You’ll be driving a modern, well-maintained vehicle and helping local students travel safely with a friendly, supportive Tropic Wings team behind you.

To be considered, you’ll need:
✅ An MR Licence
✅ Driver’s Authorisation
✅ A Blue Card, or willingness to obtain one
✅ A reliable, safety-focused approach and good communication skills

This weekend marks a very special milestone as we celebrate 50 years of Rainforestation with a big anniversary celebration at the park.

It's a chance to reflect on an incredible journey that began on 26 July 1976, when the Woodward family created the very first experience that would grow into what is now the CaPTA Group.

Half a century later, Rainforestation remains proudly family-owned and operated, with the legacy continuing through the three Woodward sons. It's a story of passion, perseverance and a deep connection to Tropical North Queensland — one we're honoured to celebrate with our team, partners and community this weekend.

Rainforestation Nature Park in Kuranda is hiring an experienced Wildlife Keeper! 🐾🌿

We’re looking for a passionate wildlife professional to join our team in a part-time or casual role, helping care for a diverse range of Australian native animals.

The role includes animal husbandry, monitoring health and behaviour, habitat maintenance, guest education and supporting high standards of animal welfare, safety and biosecurity.

Applicants must have:

• A Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care, or equivalent
• At least one year of paid animal-industry experience
• A current driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and school holidays

Experience with koalas, reptiles, mammals or birds will be highly regarded.

Before the parks, before the tours, before the experiences people travel across the world for… there was a vision.

Pip and Charles Woodward saw something more — not just land, but the potential to create meaningful connections with this region, its wildlife, and the people who visit it.

The second image captures the property at Rainforestation in 1980 — long before it became what so many know and love today.

This week, that legacy was recognised, with Pip and Charles honoured as Life Members by the Queensland Tourism Industry Council.

Their story lives on in every visit, every experience, and every moment spent exploring Tropical North Queensland.
