Today, our community came together at the National Servicemen’s Memorial Garden in Burwood Park to honour the service and sacrifice of our National Servicemen.

We gathered to recognise those who served our country with courage, dedication and distinction. Their service helped shape our nation, and their legacy continues to inspire future generations.

It was a privilege to join veterans, families and community members in reflecting on their contribution and ensuring their stories are remembered.

Lest we forget.

Against the spectacular backdrop of , Mayor John Faker of Burwood Council was proud to join business, government and community leaders at the launch of The 5 to 9 Economy: Australia's Growing Life After Dark.

A big thank you to Business Sydney, JCDecaux Australia, Minister John Graham, Commissioner Michael Rodrigues, my fellow panellists and everyone who contributed to the conversation.

The future of Sydney after dark is bright, and I'm proud to see Burwood helping lead the way in creating vibrant, safe and connected communities.

🎨 A new story is taking shape in Burwood Park.

As National Reconciliation Week comes to a close, we're proud to celebrate a new mural by Tiarna Herczeg, a proud First Nations and Hungarian artist.

Located on Wangal land, the artwork will transform the Burwood Park Pavilion and new amenities building, creating a vibrant space that celebrates Country, culture and community.

Sharing stories through public art remains a priority for Council, helping to strengthen connection and create the welcoming public spaces Burwood is known for.
