EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST WANTED
Hi my name is Sarah, I’m currently studying the Diploma of Management followed by the Diploma of Social Work. I have a passion in life & that is to serve my community through my abilities. During my study I am looking into ways to provide for the Homeless. Recently I attended the Bundaberg City Council Homeless Day, where I conducted research as to the current gaps
that need filling. The research provided me with two gaps that are currently not filled…
1/shelter for women/teen girls that haven’t come from an abusive relationship
2/single Dads with children
My ultimate goal is to rehabilitate the homeless through a Rejuvenation Centre where they’ll be taught a variety of life skills in progressions towards living a better & fulfilling quality of life. Anything they need support in is what I’d like the Rejuvenation Centre to offer. You could say it’s a form of Life Coaching where we break the cycle, understand the cycle then assist in helping our valuable homeless people towards healing & creating a more positive way of life. Included will be holistic & alternative ways to navigate each day, including how to move forward implementing what they’ve learnt. Essentially I would love to find like-minded, passionate & willing people to build this shelter away from Government funding & red tape (unless of course someone knows how to do this easily). So here I declare & ask that if you are drawn to helping and can offer anything from donating a building to clothes to being a support worker then please feel welcome to contact me so we can collaborate. Let’s create a safe haven from roof to floor with all the warm fuzzy bits in between that is beneficial to permanently rejuvenating our homeless. At this stage as I’m setting the foundations for a long term shelter, all staff would be volunteers as well as anything materialistic would be donated.
