When the Fire Is Out, the Hardest Part Begins, Let’s Stand With Theo, send a card or memo of support by mail if you can, let's make sure he doesn't feel forgotten weeks on when it sinks in.

Some of you may have seen the footage of Theo Legarde’s home completely destroyed in the recent bushfire in VIC.
Even weeks later, the reality hasn’t eased, the shock has worn off and the emotional toll is really starting to hit. Grief, exhaustion and trauma don’t disappear once the flames are out… in many ways, that’s when the hardest part begins.

Theo is a genuinely kind person who has lost not just a house, but a lifetime of memories, security and normal life. Community support right now means more than people realise, even small gestures help remind someone they’re not alone.

But money isn’t the only help that matters.
Messages, letters and cards can make a huge difference during trauma recovery. Weeks later is often when people feel most forgotten.
