GIRLS TENNIS
The Hunter Floris Conway Cup Knockout Competition provided an excellent showcase of school tennis, with teams from across the region competing in a day of high-quality matches, strong competition, and outstanding sportsmanship.
Throughout the event, players demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and resilience as they competed for the opportunity to progress to the next stage of the competition. The standard of tennis was impressive, with many closely contested matches highlighting the depth of talent within the Hunter region.
Following a series of competitive encounters, it was Great Lakes College and Merewether High School who advanced to the final. Both teams displayed outstanding tennis throughout the day and produced a hard-fought final that was played in great spirit.
In the end, the exceptional skills, teamwork, and consistency demonstrated by Great Lakes College proved too strong, with the team securing victory and earning the opportunity to represent the Hunter region at the State Championships in August.
Congratulations to Great Lakes College on their success. We wish the players, coaches, and support staff all the very best as they prepare for the State Championships.
A sincere thank you is also extended to all schools that participated in the competition. The support and commitment shown by team managers, coaches, parents, and players helped create a positive and successful event for everyone involved.
The Hunter Floris Conway Cup once again highlighted the outstanding talent, sportsmanship, and passion for tennis that exists across our region, and we look forward to seeing these students continue to excel in future competitions.

INAUGURAL SUCCESS
The inaugural Girls Rugby League PSSA 12 Years Championships were held in Cronulla last week, marking a historic moment for school sport in NSW
The Hunter girls displayed outstanding toughness, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament, finishing at the top of their pool undefeated. Their strong performances earned them a place in the finals series, where they faced some of the state's strongest representative teams.
In a thrilling semi-final, the girls showed incredible resilience, fighting back from a 12-0 deficit to defeat a strong Sydney South West side 16-12 and secure their place in the championship final to play for Gold.
The Hunter girls started the final strongly, taking an early lead against Sydney West. Despite their courageous effort, Sydney West were able to regain momentum and claim the title. The Hunter team can be extremely proud of their achievements, finishing with a Silver medal in the first-ever championship.
Congratulations to Hallie Gessell (Nords Wharf Public School), Daisy-Mae Milne (Kahibah Public School), and Lola Toole (Muswellbrook Public School), who were selected in the first-ever NSWPSSA Girls Rugby League Team a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of their outstanding performances throughout the carnival.

RUGBY POSTPONED
Good morning all,
Unfortunately there has been some damage done to the grounds at Beaches to go along with the continuing rain fall, and even with good weather predicted over the weekend, we won't be any good for Monday. This in conjunction with the amount of water on other grounds around and no guarantees they will be open, Luke and I have made the call to postpone our trials on Monday.
Can you please inform your players and parents. Our new trial date will be Thursday June 11, still at Ernie Calland Field.
We are aware this is Star Struck week, however the PSSA Sports Calendar does not have a lot of available options for us to try to fit in. If this potentially affects one of your boys with Star Struck Tech and Dress Rehearsal on that Thursday, please contact Luke and myself.

The GIRLS TRIALS will need to be also POSPONED again from WEDNESDAY to a new date to be fixed.
