Martindale Hall is one of the most remarkable historic buildings in Australia. Completed in 1880 and immortalised a century later in the film Picnic at Hanging Rock, directed by Peter Weir, Martindale Hall is a priceless piece of South Australia's heritage. Edmund Bowman Junior (1855-1921) built Martindale Hall, spending what today would be more than $5 million, to recreate the England of his fore

bears. It was gifted to the people of South Australia through a generous bequest from the Mortlock famly who owned the property from 1891. Now, the South Australian Government wants to sell the Hall and the surrounding conservation park for a private development. We need your support to ensure that Martindale Hall is not sold and that it is kept for all South Australians to enjoy for all time.
