It was wonderful to meet Julie Buxton - Labor for Bayswater and show her around CHAMPION and the community garden as well as the Temple Society Australia site and talk to her all about the work we do in the local community to make the lives of our visitors just that little bit easier! Thanks for the visit Julie!

The staff and vols out at Champion do an amazing job for community, and that extends way beyond food to connection, referral and sometimes a non judgmental conversation that can make the world of difference.

It was great to get out and meet Martina, Lisette and the team and discuss plans and projects for the future.

Thanks for having me out once again.

Every year, more than 3,300 people in Australia die by su***de. Behind every death is a person, and their loss is felt deeply by families, friends, colleagues and communities.
Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. This year's theme, 𝘊𝘩𝘒𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘡𝘩𝘦 π˜•π˜’π˜³π˜³π˜’π˜΅π˜ͺ𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘢π˜ͺ𝘀π˜ͺπ˜₯𝘦, encourages us to think about how we talk about su***de and mental distress, and how we can move beyond silence and stigma.

These conversations aren't always easy. But they matter.

Su***de is complex, and none of us can fix it alone. But taking the time to listen, check in, and let someone know they're not on their own can matter more than we realise.

It's worth reflecting on how we can support one another and help reduce the stigma that too often stops people from reaching out.
