Last night our firefighters responded to a structure fire in central Byron Bay, crews arrived to an involved blaze and got straight to work, bringing the fire under control quickly and preventing it from spreading to neighbouring properties.

A great team effort alongside our neighbouring crews from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 213 Bangalow, Fire and Rescue NSW Station 240 Brunswick Heads, Fire and Rescue NSW Station 316 Goonellabah and the RFS.

It’s a timely reminder to make sure you have working smoke alarms installed throughout your home.

Meet the recruits!

Simon, Caspian and Tristan are our newest recruits to join Murwillumbah 391. Caspian and Tristan recently completed 2 weeks of intensive basic training at Armidale with Simon due soon.

Once they complete their 6 months probation period, they'll continue to recieve aditional training in other specific competencies, as well as on the job mentoring and training from senior Firefighters with over 100 years combined experience.
So they can be .

TRUCK FIRE: Just before midday today Fire and Rescue NSW Station 316 Goonellabah, Lismore FRNSW and various NSW RFS Appliances responded to reports of a Cattle Truck Fire.

Crews worked swiftly to contain the blaze to the cab of the truck while ensuring livestock onboard were safely removed.

After extinguishment, approximately 400L of diesel was carefully decanted into specialised hazmat bins, protecting the local environment from further impact.
