Ballan Fire Brigade Ballan Fire Brigade is a volunteer community organisation proividing fire and rescue services to the Ballan and surrounding areas.

Ballan FIre Brigade operates as part of the Country Fire Authority (CFA) in Victoria, Australia. Ballan Fire Brigade consists entirely of Volunteers who dedicate their time to support and protect the Ballan and surrounding communities. The Brigade includes a Captain, 4 Lieutenants, Fire Fighters and non-operational members who participate in a wide variety of roles within the Brigade and Community

including Community Events, Fire Calls, Fire Safety Awareness, Brigade & Vehicle Maintenance and Training just to name a few.

This Watch and Act message is being issued for Bullengarook, Greendale, Lerderderg.
- It is Not Safe to Return to Bullengarook, Greendale, Lerderderg.
- There is a bushfire at Obriens Road in the Lerderderg State Forest that is not yet under control.
- The bushfire is travelling from Obriens Road to the Chadwick Campground in an easterly direction.

If you left the Chadwick Campground area, it is Not Safe to Return. Be aware of potential dangerous bushfire and tree hazards.

What you should do:

If you have not already left:
- Stay where you are and avoid dangerous bushfire and tree hazards.
- Check you have enough food, drinking water and medications - if you do not, phone Triple Zero (000) for assistance.
If you have already left:
- Do not return to your home until a Safe to Return notification is issued.
- Register at a relief centre so your friends, family and authorities can be informed that you are safe.
- Stay informed by listening to emergency broadcasters and monitoring warnings.

This Emergency Warning is being issued for Blackwood, Greendale, Lerderderg.
- There is a bushfire at Greendale that is not yet under control.
- The bushfire is travelling from Obriens Road in a easterly direction towards Chadwick Campground.
- Chadwick Campground could be impacted anytime within the next hour.
- This fire is 80 hectares in size.

Leaving immediately is the safest option, before conditions become too dangerous.

Emergency services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay.

Those located at the Chadwick Campground should travel to Bacchus Marsh using Bacchus Marsh Road.

Thank you Country Grocers Ballan for your support not just during our busy time but also through-out the year.

We also like to say a huge thank you to the community for there support, well wishes and donations. It is greatly appreciated by all.

When visiting our store in the coming days, we invite you to purchase a $2 donation token in support of our local CFA and leave a message of encouragement. These messages will be displayed in store and presented to our local CFA alongside the donated funds.

We are grateful year-round for the dedication and tireless efforts of the CFA in protecting our community. However, the events of the past week have been a powerful reminder of the sacrifices they make and the unwavering commitment they show in keeping our community safe.

Just a friendly reminder that with the help of the Ballan Fire Brigade, Santa will once again be travelling the streets of Ballan on Christmas Eve, Wednesday 24 December, from 3:30pm to 7:00pm.
