“Taylor wants to do well at school. He’s trying so hard, but without the right tools he’s constantly falling behind - and he knows it.”

At 14, Taylor is living in out-of-home care and working hard to stay engaged at school despite the challenges he faces.

But without reliable access to a laptop, completing assignments, accessing online learning and keeping up with classmates is incredibly difficult. Every missed task impacts his confidence and puts him at greater risk of disengaging from school.

A laptop would help Taylor stay connected to learning, build confidence and keep working towards a brighter future. Right now, because of an unexpected funding gap, some critical Variety grants and programs may be delayed - including support that helps vulnerable children stay engaged in school.

Your donation today can help ensure children like Taylor don’t miss out on critical opportunities simply because help arrived too late. 👉 https://fundraise.varietynswact.org.au/urgent-appeal

Seven-year-old Sam loves soccer. He dreams of running onto the field with his friends, joining in the game and simply feeling like every other kid. But right now, his body struggles to keep up.

Without early physiotherapy, Sam risks falling further behind in his physical development and confidence. The things many children take for granted - running, balancing, keeping pace with friends - are incredibly difficult for him.

Right now, Variety is facing a funding gap of more than $1 million following the cancellation of our cornerstone motoring events. Without urgent support, critical grants and therapy programs may be delayed.

Donate today to support kids like Sam 👉 https://fundraise.varietynswact.org.au/urgent-appeal

For children like three-year-old Olivia, something as simple as getting in a car can be frightening.

“Every trip feels stressful,” her mum shares. “We worry constantly about Olivia’s safety, but we still need to get her to therapy and appointments that help her learn and grow.”

Because of her complex physical needs, Olivia cannot travel safely in a standard car seat and requires constant hands-on support. Without specialised equipment, even short trips can be unsafe - threatening her access to vital therapy, appointments and the care she urgently needs.

But right now, an unexpected funding gap means children like Olivia are missing out on specialised equipment such as car seats, paediatric wheelchairs and adjustable beds.

With the end of the financial year approaching, your tax-deductible donation can help bridge this gap. Your donation can help provide children like Olivia with vital equipment that keeps them safe, connected and included – right now, when it is needed most. 👉https://fundraise.varietynswact.org.au/urgent-appeal

There’s only one more day left in May, that means there are only 24 hours left to help us fund life-changing mobility equipment for kids across NSW/ACT. ❤️

Your donation today means children like 9-year-old Charli - who is living with cerebral palsy - get the freedom to experience the world. Thanks to an all-terrain beach wheelchair, a whole world of moments have opened up for her.

There are still so many children waiting for essential equipment. Whether you are a participant hitting your final fundraising goals or a supporter looking to make an impact today, your donation matters. 👉 https://fundraise.varietynswact.org.au/event/move-in-may

A huge thank you to the mighty for getting behind Move in May. Seeing the Raiders community get involved and help spread the word means so much as we continue raising vital funds to support kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

Thank you also to our incredible corporate partner Toyota Material Handling (TMHA), principal partner of the Raiders, for helping to facilitate this.

Partnerships like this show the power of community coming together to make a real difference.

There’s still time to get behind Move in May and help us cross the finish line strong. Every donation, big or small, helps Variety support children across NSW and the ACT who need it most.

This Reconciliation Week, we’re reflecting on the importance of listening, learning, and working alongside communities to improve outcomes for children ❤️

A few years ago, we reviewed our programs to see how we could better support children living with disability in rural and remote NSW - including many First Nations communities in Western NSW. Through conversations with First Nations organisations - including the First Nations Disability Network, Secretariate of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC), and the Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council - the gaps became clear.

To help support remote communities who were being left behind, we partnered with Marathon Health to launch the Variety Flying Start Paediatric Service. Today, this vital service delivers life-changing care directly to children in Western NSW hubs like Lightning Ridge, Walgett, Brewarrina, and Bourke.

True reconciliation is about action. This week, we encourage everyone to reflect on how we can all listen deeper and work together to support First Nations kids. Learn more about how you can support programs like Flying Start 👉 https://bit.ly/3Nl9l7o
