NSW RFS Illawarra District The Illawarra District covers Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama local government areas.

The Illawarra District has close to 1,000 volunteers and comprises of 22 brigades, including Illawarra Support, Illawarra Cadets, Illawarrra Communications and Illawarra Community Safety Brigades. Brigades provide fire protection from south of Waterfall to Foxground in the south including Gerroa and 7 Mile Beach.
