Honored to attend the Africa Day celebrations hosted by Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Juraj Blanár — a remarkable occasion celebrating the strong and growing ties between Africa and Slovakia.

I was particularly pleased to discuss his upcoming official visit to Nairobi on 8th June, accompanied by a delegation of 35 Slovak businessmen. This visit presents an important opportunity to deepen trade, investment, innovation, and strategic cooperation between Slovakia and Kenya.

As Africa continues to emerge as a key global economic partner, collaborations grounded in mutual respect, shared prosperity, and sustainable development will define the future we build together.

There is something deeply captivating about these photos.

Not because of the protocol.
Not because of the titles.
But because of the quiet irony life sometimes writes so effortlessly.

A Kenyan presenting credentials.
Another Kenyan receiving them.
On the global stage.

And suddenly diplomacy becomes personal.

Because beyond the UN emblem and formalities lies a story many Kenyans understand too well — of mentorship, proximity to greatness, seasons of learning, and eventually, arrival.

One generation opening doors.
Another walking through them.

You cannot look at this moment without appreciating the beauty of continuity. That the people who once inspired, guided, challenged, or mentored us may one day stand across from us as peers in purpose.

That is the parody of life:-

The rooms you once entered seeking wisdom become the same rooms where your own credentials are finally acknowledged.

Director General/Executive Secretary, Amb. Monica Juma represents a generation of Kenyan leadership that carried competence with quiet authority.

Amb. Edwin Afande represents the continuation of that legacy - proof that excellence reproduces itself when mentorship is intentional.

And perhaps that is the most powerful thing about this moment, Kenya meeting itself at the highest table of global service.

Not by accident.
But by preparation, persistence, and legacy.

A truly beautiful Kenyan moment.

It was a pleasure to attend the reception hosted by the Mayor and Governor of Vienna, Dr. Michael Ludwig, alongside fellow ambassadors and members of the diplomatic community, on the occasion of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 Semi-Final.

The evening was a powerful reminder of how music and culture continue to unite people across borders, fostering dialogue, understanding, and shared experiences among nations.

Vienna once again demonstrated how a city can successfully harness its rich cultural heritage and global artistic appeal to bring people together, strengthen international connections, and showcase the enduring value of cultural diplomacy.

My sincere appreciation to the City of Vienna for the warm hospitality and for creating such a memorable celebration of culture, diversity, and international friendship.

Today, I had the honour of accompanying H.E. Amb. Edwin Afande as he presented his Letters of Commission to the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), Dr. Robert Floyd.

This reaffirms Kenya’s steadfast commitment to the global nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament agenda. As a strong supporter of the CTBTO, Kenya continues to champion efforts aimed at promoting international peace, security, and the total elimination of nuclear testing.

Our engagement with the CTBTO also underscores Kenya’s strategic role in advancing scientific cooperation, particularly through the International Monitoring System, which contributes not only to nuclear test detection but also to broader civil and environmental applications.

We look forward to deepening our collaboration with the CTBTO in pursuit of a safer, more secure, and peaceful world.

Health Diplomacy: Focused on leveraging multilateral platforms for pandemic preparedness, vaccine equity, and universal health coverage - key to resilient African health systems.

Peace and Security: Emphasized collaborative strategies against emerging threats like cyber risks and climate-induced conflicts, with calls for stronger AU-UN partnerships.

Hon. Moses Kuria shared invaluable insights from his legislative and economic diplomacy experience, urging envoys to champion trade and investment as pillars of national prosperity.

PS Diaspora Roseline Njogu delivered a standout session: “Our diaspora is Kenya’s strategic national asset because they carry Kenya’s identity, culture, and national spirit beyond borders and therefore shape the country’s image and crucial policies.”
